Preston Roberts is a woodsman and environmentalist who became famous for his appearances on the History Channel’s television show “Mountain Men”. Preston Roberts was born in 1957 in Brevard, North Carolina. Roberts grew up hiking through the Pisgah National Forest, attended Atlantic Christian College, and received his degree in Art Education from Appalachian State University. Preston met his wife, Kathleen DuPont McGuire, in 1975 and the couple has raised three boys; they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in 2015.

Preston Roberts taught in the Wilkes County School System for twenty five years and has been an instructor for numerous primitive skills gatherings and cultural events all over the United States. Preston and his wife grew organic gardens and Preston spent his free time making knives, hunting, fishing, and raising horses and chickens. Preston Roberts passed away on July 24, 2017 in the arms of his beloved wife and surrounded by his loved ones.
