Rachel Susan Dratch was born to the Elaine Ruth and Paul Dratch, former a director of transportation and later a well settled radiologist. Her birth place is Lexington in the Massachusetts. After graduating from the Dartmouth College, she studied improvisational theatre in Chicago. Committed to acting right from the early age when she acted in school plays, she developed a strong affinity with comedies and she had been the member of ‘Said and Done.’ It was a comedy group. From her biography we come to know that she got entry into the television through the NBC. She actually was casted in its show, Saturday Night Live. She then worked in Second City and won Best Actress award. Her show Dratch & Fey was very popular and critically acclaimed and earned her praise, fame and wealth. She proved her genius yet again through her writing and it gave her a wider recognition as an established actress.
Dratch is married to John Wahl with whom she has a son, Eli Benjamin. She, her son and her husband, they live together in the New York City. She met her husband in the bar and consequently she got pregnant which she realized only after six months after meeting him the first time. Although, it shocked her but she gave birth to her son and now they live together. In her memoir, Dratch gives a full account of her meeting with John Wahl and they get along with their new born son. Although, they initially lived at separate places but when they became parents, they decided to settle together at the New York City to take good care of their son. Her husband worked in a food industry and met in a bar for the first time.
