Robert Griffin III

Robert Lee Griffin III, who is also famously known by his nickname RG3, was born on February 12, 1990, in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. He is a well-known American football quarterback for the WR (Washington Redskins) of the NFL (National Football League). In 2011, at Baylor, he played college football and won the Heisman Trophy. RG3 drafted as a second overall in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Redskins. In 2012, Griffin won the NFL OR (Offensive Rookie) of the year award.

Education

Robert Lee Griffin III has graduated a semester early from high school. He ranked 7th in the class and served as a class president.   He was just 17year old when he joined Baylor University in 2008 spring semester. He was a member of Baylor’s field and track team, and in 400meter hurdle, he finished in first place at both championships including NCCA MRC (Midwest Regional Championship) and Big 12 CC (Conference Championship) meet. He also broke the 400meter hurdles of the NCAA Midwest Regional. RG3 positioned 3rd in the NCAA and also, he participated in United States Olympic Trials, where he played semifinals. 

RG3 graduated and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in just three years, in political science with a 3.67 GPA and appeared twice on the dean’s list.

Career Experience

At Cove High School Griffin played three sports including football, track, and basketball for the Bulldawgs and was known as the three-sport star. For two seasons he was a quarterback. In his junior college football season, he passed for 2,001yards, and with 2 interceptions he did 25 touchdowns, and at the same time, he accumulated 876 rushing yards for eight touchdowns.  After the season was finished, he was honored as the first-team All-District 16-A player. In his senior season, he passed for 1,356yards for sixteen touchdowns with seven interceptions and listed in 1,285 rushing yards list, and 24 touchdowns.  During his senior season CC High School has finished the game with a record score of 13-2, but unfortunately, the team lost the championship game in 2007 Class 4A Division I state playoffs.

RG3, a career star broke track record for 300m and 110m hurdles. In just 13.55 seconds he ran 110m hurdles and in 35.33 seconds he finished 300m hurdles.  In 2007, he achieved a No.1 position as a junior in high school 400m hurdle.

A recruiting service for a College football ranked him in the national level as a 4th best dual-threat quarterback and in the high school, he ranked 42nd best player in Texas of class 2008. In 2012, Griffin officially declared his intention to join the NFL Draft and signed the contract.

Personal Life

Before his junior season Griffin was not the first-round draft pick, but by midseason he got attention from NFL analysts and scouts and he was projected for an early first-round selection.  Griffin established as a No.2 quarterback by the end of the junior season for the 2012 NFL Draft. He married his wife Rebecca Liddicoat and their love still blossoming from almost six years.
