Scott Mechlowicz

Scott Mechlowicz was born in 1981, January 17 in New York to parents Susan and Morris. Scott spent his childhood growing up in Plano, Texas. In 1999, he finished Plano Senior High School and enrolled at University of Texas. He spent half a year in the university and decided that the best thing for him to do is move to Los Angeles. He started attending classes at UCLA and finished his studies in 2003.

Career

The first time Scott Mechlowicz appeared on screen was in February of 2004. Jeff Schaffer's comedy Eurotrip has received mixed reviews from various critics and different fans. Scott was playing the main role that of a Scottie Thomas who decided to travel around Europe and visit his pen friend from Germany after his girlfriend was cheating on him. Like previously mentioned, the movie was not the biggest success in the industry but it still was a great way for Scott to become recognized. Later that year the actor was cast in an independent movie Mean Creek. Jacob Aaron Estes is responsible for the film. It is a psychological drama about a couple of young adults and teenagers who come up with an idea to make fun of a fat bully while they are on a boating trip. Scott plays one of the main characters in the movie. The film was well received in the community and it got Scott an award for his performance. In the same year, the actor made a guest appearance on medical drama House M. D.

The next project Scott was a part of was Victor Salva's Peaceful Warrior where Mechlowicz played the main part as Dan Millman, a troubled gymnast who by chance happens to meet a guide to help him in his spiritual journey. The movie received mixed reviews but some people praised it for its acting and writing.

In 2007, Scott starred in Ringan Ledwidge's Gone, a psychological thriller. The movie made 89 thousand dollars in Australian Box Office.

The next couple of years were quiet in the actors front but he made his return in 2010 starring in Chris Peckover's independent film Undocumented. This was one of the movies where Scott plays the main character.

In 2011, Mechlowicz was seen in Cat Run and Waiting Forever. The latter made over 25 million dollars in the box office and was the most successful movie money-wise Scott ever was a part of. After this, the actor appeared in a few more projects that were not successful or receive much attention from the critics or the fans.

Scott Mechlowicz is set to be back on the big screen in 2017 with Royce Gorsuch's science-fiction movie The Mad Genius Project. Not much is known about the movie yet but it appears that Scott is going to be one of the main characters of the film.

During his short career as an actor, Scott has won Independent Spirit Award in the category of Special Distinction for his work in Mean Creek.
