Se-re Pak

Se-re Pak is a professional golfer from South Korean and she plays with LPGA tour.  In 2007, she was inducted in the World Golf Hall of Fame.  She became a professional in 1996 when she was 20 years old and in one year she moved to USA.  In 1996 and 1997, she was able to win more than 6 tournaments within the LPGA of Korea Tour. She joined to play LPGA tour on full time in 1998. She was able to win two major seasons which are LPGA Championship of MacDonald and US Women’s Open.  When she was only 20 years, she worn the US Women’s Open and this made her to be the youngest person to have won the tournament.  She worn with 20 holes of 92 holes in the length and this was the longest tournament made by a female professional golf. Within four days, she shot a LPGA record of 61 at a second round at Jamie Farr Kroger Classic.  For that season, she got the award of Rolex Rookie of the Year.

Se-re Pak did not start to play until she reached the age of 14, however before she was a track runner and this helped her to develop the powerful legs and thighs needed in the golf to create the balance and the stability. She is not yet married since there is no record about any marriage and divorces.  It is also not clear if she has a boyfriend by now.

From 1998, she was able to win 21 games this includes three major games.  In 2007, when she was only 29, she qualified to be in the World Golf Hall of Fame and this made her to be the youngest entrant. In 2003, she completed in the events of men and she finished at 10th.  This made her the second woman to make a  cut in the professional men’s tournament and the first one was Babe Zaharias in 1945.

In 2005, she was not able to get the cut of 29 majors. During the interview, she said that she was not happy and she was trying to find a balance within her personal life and golf. After sometime, she was found that she had an injury on her finger and she was able to recover her best form in 2006 and she won the McDonald’s LPGA championship for the third time and she claimed her major title at the fifth times.

In 2007, she won the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic for the fifth time and this made her to be a fourth player in the LPGA who was able to win one tournament for more than 5 times.

When Se-re Pak started to play in LPGA, she was the only Korean woman but after 10 years, more than 45 Koreans were on the tour. She encouraged many women to start the career in golf and many followed her footstep. Even if it is known that she makes good money when she wins, her salary or net worth were not recorded.
