Shereen Bhan, an accomplished Indian journalist and news anchor, was born in 1976. She comes from a Kashmiri Hindu family. Her early education took place at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Kashmir, followed by schooling at Air Force Bal Bharati School on Lodhi Road, New Delhi. She earned her undergraduate degree in Philosophy from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. Subsequently, she completed her master’s degree in Communication Studies with a specialization in television and film from the University of Pune.
Shereen Bhan began her career in journalism as a news researcher with noted journalist Karan Thapar at the production house Infotainment Television. She later joined UTV, where she worked in the News and Current Affairs division. During her tenure there, she produced several televised shows such as We the People on Star TV and Line of Fire on SAB TV.
In 2000, she joined CNBC-TV18, where she quickly made her mark by breaking several key news stories that have shaped the Indian economic and corporate landscape. Over the course of her career spanning more than 15 years, she has covered major policy decisions, corporate developments, and business trends in India.
Shereen Bhan became the Managing Editor of CNBC-TV18 in September 2013, following Udayan Mukherjee's decision to step down from the role. As managing editor, she has overseen editorial strategy and special programming content for the network.
She has served as both anchor and editor for Young Turks, one of India’s longest-running shows focusing on entrepreneurship. The program has carved out a distinctive niche in business news programming by spotlighting emerging business leaders and start-ups.
