Background
Sophie Monk was born in London to an English father and an Australian mother. In 1982, her folks moved to Australia's Gold Coast in Queensland when she was just two years old. She was trained in singing classical opera when she was growing up
She attended Helensvale Primary School. When she went to MacGregor State High School, she graduated as school chief in 1997. She then went to study at Somerset College and A. B. Paterson College. Following her college graduation, Monk worked as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator at Warner Bros. Motion picture World on the Gold Coast.
Career
Monk’s music career started in 1999 when she responded to a notice at the suggestion of her mom which asked for young ladies with vocal and dance skills. The ad was for an Australian unscripted TV series, Popstars, which a TV talent show.
Aside from her music with her girl band Bardot, Sophie has also released a solo album called Calendar Girl.
The versatile entertainer, Sophie has also entered the acting world. She has appeared in popular films such as Date Movie, Click, and Spring Breakdown.
