Sosie Bacon is an American actress and the daughter of actors Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon. When Sosie was young her mother spent six months in Los Angeles shooting the television series The Closer and Sosie stayed home in Manhattan and developed a strong bond with her father.
Although her parents never wanted Sosie to become an actress, it appears she was a natural. Kevin Bacon says that he cast her for her first role in his film Loverboy because he viewed her from the perspective of a director and not a father. Her role in her father’s film prompted the producer of the show that her mother worked on to offer her another role; this time as the niece to her mother’s character, Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson.
After working with both of her parents, Sosie went back to her studies, attending Brown University and studying acting at the musical theatre company CAP21. Most recently, Sosie can be seen in 13 Reasons Why and in the 2018 HBO drama series Here and Now.
