Steve Carell

Steve John Carell was born on August 16, 1962, in Concord, Massachusetts. He is today most known just as Steve Carell and has become one of the most versatile comic actors. Steve’s parents were not related to the show business. His mom Harriet was a psychiatric nurse and Edwin Carell an electrical engineer. The original name of the Carell’s was Caroselli which came from Steve’s grandpa who was an Italian immigrant and changed his surname when he came to America. He attended to school in Concord, Massachusetts at The Fenn School, a private school admitting only boys. Acting was not his known vocation when he was young. He attempted to be a lawyer first, but by the time he was filling his application, he found a hard question on the form he couldn’t answer: “Why do you want to be a lawyer?” This was a breaking point in his life. He attended to Denison University in Granville, Ohio and earned a degree in History. During his time at Denison, Carell became a member of Burpee's Seedy Theatrical Company. This was a run improvisational comedy ensemble and helped Steve to find his true vocation: acting.

Professional Career

Carell officially debuted as a professional actor in the film “Tesio” in 1991. Since then he has accumulated a long list of credits. He holds 67 appearances as actors which include his participation in movies, TV series and dubbing for animated characters. He’s been producer and executive producer 10 times mostly for TV series. He has performed in 12 TV soundtracks and holds 6 recognitions as a writer. Steve has directed twice a total of 4 TV series episodes, and he has appeared in more than 200 TV shows, including “The Dailyshow” that had him perform as the TV host in 286 episodes starting in 1999 up to his last participation in 2015 in Jon Stewart's Final Episode.

The office is probably his most known work. He plays Michael Scott who is the regional manager of Dunder Mifflin Company, which is the office around which the story takes place. He also directed 3 episodes and wrote 2 of them. Playing other roles, he was a producer on 102 episodes and even played as stun double for Erik Solky in 6 occasions and Paul Bunnell’s photo double once tough this was unaccredited. The series aired from 2005 to 2013 when he retired from the cast to focus his career on films.

2011 was one of the best years for Steve Carell. He reported a total income that year excluding TV related projects of $17.5 million, which made him the 31st-highest paid actor that year. This contributed to his calculated net worth today that reaches 50 million dollars.

Personal Life

Nancy Walls became Nancy Carell after she married Steve in on August 5, 1995. They met while Steve was teaching an improvisation class at the Second City comedy in Chicago. Steve’s wife is also an actress and has participated in some of her husband’s projects.

The couple has 2 children. Elizabeth is the eldest, born on May 2001. John came 3 years later in June.
