When Stuart Varney finished his high school, he went to work in Kenya, Nairobi City for a year before he joined London School of Economics. Afterwards, he started to work at Radio Hong Kong like a reporter.  He started with the broadcast journalism when he was at KEMO-TV also called KOFY-TV in the San Francisco.  He joined them Manhattan bureau for a new news network called CNN which started in 1980. At the station, he was the host of Business Asia and Business Day together with Willow Bay and Moneyline. In 2001, he stopped to work at CNN so that he can become the host of CNBC program called Wall Street Journal Editorial Board with Stuart Varney. He started to work for Fox News Channels for its business team in the year 2004 and he joined Fox Business Network where he was the anchor when the station was launched in the year 2007.

According to his biography, Stuart Varney was married to Deborah Varney and the relationship ended after 21 years of marriage since the wife found out that he was in relationship with another woman in Orlando for nine years. He started to live in USA in the year 1974 in the area called New Jersey and he has six children with his wife.  He became an American citizen in 2015.  His daughter Jill Varney Meyer once won 25,000 thousand at Hotel Showcase show shown at Travel Channel. Some sources have it that he is paid a salary of over 608 thousands every year and this helped him to achieve to his net worth estimated to be over 10 million dollars and this proves how successful he has been. Online websites have different information about him but he is not involved too much in the social media.

Before Stuart Varney joined FNC, he was business contributor and a substitute host of Fox News Channel program called Your World with Neil Cavuto. Before working  on the business team of FNC in 2004, he was also a contributor for the weekend and weekday programs of the network like Cashin’In, Cavuto on Business, Bulls and Bears and Your World with Neil Cavuto. 

In 2013, he was in the controversy for the commentary he made about Pope Francis. Pope had talked about the wealth gap and he denounced the capitalism to be a system which rules instead of serving. Stuart Varney said that he goes to church to save the soul but Pope wanted to influence his vote by characterizing negatively the system.
