Personal life

Sven was born and raised in Torsby. His father was a bus conductor and his mother was a textile store worker. In 1977, he married Ann Christine Pettersson. It is assumed that he and Ann are living happily without any rumors of separation. He never talked about his family, parents, siblings and other intimate details in any interview.

His personal life is totally out of media’s radar. His net worth was 16 million pounds in 2012. In 2013, he announced that he lost 10 million pounds due to some financial problems because of his financial advisor. His current net worth and salary details are not known to media. He also filed a case against his advisor. It is not known whether or not he has fathered any children. His marital life is not open in media.

Career

Sven made his debut at the age of 16 for Swedish Football Division 4 Team. He was sent to SK Sifhalla since he moved to Saffle for his education. In 1972, he joined the Division 2 team, KB Karlskoga FF. He also worked as a physical education trainer to make his ends meet. At the age of 27, he retired from playing.

Eriksson became the manager of Degerfors. In 1979, he was appointed as the manager of IFK Goteborg. After many successful matches, he started his international career in 1982 with UEFA Cup. In the same year, he joined Benfica and then moved to Italy to become the manager of Roma. In 1987, he left the club and became the manager of Fiorentina. He left the club in 1989 and moved back to Benfica. He left the club in 1992 and joined Sampdoria. He left the club in 1997 and joined Lazio. In 2001, he was in charge of England National Team. He helped England win 40 games and made them to qualify for 2002 FIFA World Cup. His team lost to Brazil and again in 2006, he led the team to qualifying match but lost to Northern Ireland.

In 2006, he was duped by Fake Sheikh MazherMahood, News of World reporter into trusting that he would buy a club and would make Sven, the manager. Sven made a deal with the sheikh that he would tap in Beckham, if offered 15 million pounds. The information was announced publically in News of the World causing turbulence in his relationship with the England team. This made FA announce that their contract with Sven would end after the world cup. Sven filed a case against the reporter. Information regarding the case is not known to media.

In 2007, after a year of gap, he signed a contract with Manchester City for 2 million pounds per year. He received Manager of the Month award in 2007. In 2010, he became the manager of Ivory Coast National Team. He took up Leicester City in 2010 and left the club in 2011. In 2013, he became the technical director of AL Nasr SC of UAE. He was announced as the head coach of Guangzhou R&F. In 2016, he became the manager of China League One Side Shenzhen FC.
