Early Life and Passion for the Arts

Teresa Castillo was born on October 14, 1983, in Long Beach, California. The youngest of three daughters, she displayed a strong passion for the arts and music from an early age. During high school, she actively participated in musicals, nurturing her dream of becoming a music star. Castillo also studied dance at an all-girls school in Hollywood.

Transition from Music to Acting

In 2008, Castillo signed with Interscope Records with hopes of launching a career in a girl band. However, when the endeavor did not develop as expected, she sought advice from rapper and music producer Snoop Dogg. Encouraged by his guidance, she shifted her focus from music to acting—a decision that would ultimately shape her career path.

Television Career and Breakthrough Role

Castillo landed her first television roles in 2010, appearing in episodes of acclaimed series such as Cold Case, 90210, and CSI: Miami. Her breakout came in 2012 when she was cast as Sabrina Santiago in the long-running ABC soap opera General Hospital. Recognized by the Guinness World Records, General Hospital is the longest-running American soap opera still in production and the third longest-running scripted drama series in television history, having premiered in 1963.
