Tika was born as Euphemia L. Sumpter; on the 20th of June, 1980 in Queens, New York, United States of America as the only daughter of a working class parents. Her father bill and her mother Eugene separated when she was 8, and she had been living with her father, after her mother lost her case due to alcoholism. As a child, she studied at the Longwood Senior High School in New York, and was the first black cheerleader in her school’s history. With particularly good grades in class, her interest was to become a news anchor for which she studied at the Marymount Manhattan College after graduation.
Towards the end of her college life, she began modeling and took a deep interest into it. She began to shoot photos for many clients and soon began to appear in some TV commercials like for Hewlett-Packard fragrances. That was the same year when she got to play in Best Friend’s Date and soon began to take other big projects. Since then, she has appeared in a number of roles in both TV as well as theatres.
