Tracey’s entertainment career kicked off with appearances on British television sketch comedy shows A Kick Up the Eighties with Rik Mayall and Miriam Margolyes. She was also on Three of a Kind with Lenny Henry and David Copperfield.

After a quick singing career, she showed up as Candice Valentine in Girls on Top with Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders.

She moved from the United Kingdom to the United States where she was featured in her own TV comedy series called The Tracey Ullman Show. The program aired from 1987 until 1990. She later produced big projects for HBO including Tracey Takes On, for which she collected various honors and praise.

Ullman's sketch comedy series, Tracey Ullman's State of the Union, kept running on air from 2008 to 2010 on Showtime. She has additionally showed up in a few feature films. Ullman was the first British lady to be offered her own TV sketch show in both the United Kingdom and the United States. Getting that kind of respect from two countries proved how great of a comedian she was.
