Vanessa Lewis is one of the fictional characters that appear in the video game series Virtua Fighter. Her first appearance was in Virtua Fighter 4, together with Lei-Fei. Vanessa Lewis is trained in the fighting styles of Muay Thai and Vale Tudo. One of the best things about her character is that she can change her fighting style during the gameplay. However, starting with the new game, Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution she will be able to fight only Vale Tudo Style. This is because Sega-AM2 decided to insert a new character, Brad Burns. He was a Muay Thai specialist so the producers decided that Vanessa will remain only with Vale Tudo style.
Vanessa’s Bio
Vanessa has a sad story. When she was a child her parents were killed. Shortly after the event she was taken by J6 and was trained to become an instrument of combat. She was rescued by a man named James that succeeded to infiltrate in J6. They fall in love and have a short love story. Unfortunately for them, their time together was short because Lewis gets murdered. Even sadder, it was on the day that Vanessa was celebrating her twentieth birthday. She used her skills learnt with the J6 and got a job as a protector for important people. This is how she gets to be Sarah Bryant’s bodyguard. When she heard rumors that the J6 want to kidnap Sarah during the 4th tournament she decided to join the battle. This way she will protect Sarah and will find the murderers of her boyfriend.
In the next Virtua Fighter 5, Vanessa’s story continues. She is captured by J6 who are trying to create a new combat model, called V-Dural (“V” comes from Vanessa). Like in the previous story, she is saved by a double agent infiltrated in J6. She has dissociative amnesia and she does not remember anything what happened to her during the time she was kidnapped. In this chapter of Virtua 5 she is fighting to find out what happened to her.

There was a big discussion on player forums due to her looks. It is said that in Virtua Fight 4 her skins was darker than in Virtua Fighter 5. Also, in the new Virtual Fighter 5 her dress up is more provocative than in Virtua Fighter 4. She has a full chart from her examinations in J6.
