Once titled as one of the most dangerous and the highest paid  tight end in the entire NFL, Washington Redskins tight-end Vernon Davis is a two time NFL pro-bowler(2009 and 2013). If you may, he is best known for his 2009 season (49ers)  for tying the most touchdown all-time record for a tight end in a single season (13 touchdowns, career high catches 78, 965receiving yards),  and also for his game nailing catch  passed from Alex Smith in the 2011-2012 NFL playoffs against  the New Orleans Saints. Importantly, he was an important element of Denver Broncos' 2015  superbowl winning team and 49ers' 2012 NFC championship winning team.

Born on January 31, 1984 in Washington, D.C, Davis was a rated athlete in high school. A letter man in football, basketball, and track and field, high schooler Davis earned numerous achievements in different sports. Impressively, he finished his college football career on a high note earning the best average for any first round tight end ever and more yards than any other first round tight ends (1,371 yards on 83 receptions for 16.5 yards per catch).  No wonder, he got the chance to win the Mackey Award in 2005 and be part of the  Consensus All-American and All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team  in 2005 as well. In fact, he was the finalist for the award, which is given to the nation best tight end. Nevertheless, he earned the reputation of workout hunk in college after setting various school strength records for the squat (685 pounds), index (824 pounds), power clean (380 pounds) and bench press (480 pounds).

Earning the reputation of one of the top tight end prospect in NFL draft because of his strong scouting combine performance (40 yard dash in 4.38 seconds, broad- jumped 10'08"), Davis got selected 6th overall by the 49ers in 2006's NFL draft first round.

 Up until 2013, Davis was regarded one of the best tight ends in the league and a 49ers most visible prospect. However, he has never been the same old fierce Davis since 2014 season. However, let's not forget that he is someone who started his professional career with a spark in 2006. If you don't know, his first NFL catch was 31 yard touchdown. Not only that, he enjoyed a career long 51 yard touchdown on December 3, 2006 against Green Bay Packers.
