Later in 2008, Jones co-founded the controversial alternative hip-hop group Die Antwoord, along with Yolandi Visser. The group’s distinctive style, blending elements of Zef culture with experimental rap and electronic music, quickly gained both domestic and international attention. Their debut album $O$ was officially released in 2010 and became a viral success, aided by their unique visual style and music videos, particularly the track "Enter the Ninja."
Die Antwoord followed up with their second album, Ten$Ion, which received mixed reviews and did not achieve the same level of success as its predecessor. In response, the group worked intensively on their third album, Donker Mag, which was released in 2014. The album was well received both in South Africa and internationally, reaffirming the group’s global presence.
In 2015, Jones made his film debut in the science-fiction film Chappie, directed by Neill Blomkamp. Appearing in the film alongside bandmate Yolandi Visser was a long-time dream for Jones, and the opportunity to both act and musically contribute to the film gave the pair additional exposure.
Watkin Tudor Jones resides in Cape Town with his long-time partner Yolandi Visser. The couple has two children, including their daughter, Sixteen Jones. Though they have been in a relationship for many years, they are not married. Outside of music, Jones is active on social media and maintains a presence on platforms like Facebook and Twitter. His biography is available on Wikipedia, and his net worth is estimated to be approximately $1 million.
