Will Forte was born on 17 June, 1970. His birth name is Orville Willis Forte IV and is the son of Patricia and Orville Willis Forte III. His birth place is Alameda County, California, United States. He moved with his family in Moraga, and after in Lafayette. Because of his name, Willis, he was often bullied at school. This is the reason why he decided to go by the name Will. He showed interest in comedy since he was a small boy. One of his idols was Steve Martin. He graduated from Acalanes High School in 1988. He went to college, to the University of California, Los Angeles, where he obtained his bachelor in History.
He tried to follow his father steps and worked as a financial broker at Smith Barney Shearson in Beverly Hills. He was not happy with his job so he quit and decided to do what he loved most – to write.
Acting Career
In 2002 he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live, during the show’s 28th season. He impersonated Bush most of the time, although he did not feel comfortable doing it. Later he did the MacGruber character, a special operations agent. He is illustrated as deactivating a bomb but is always stopped by personal issues. He was mocking MacGyver, a famous TV series character. Later, Pepsi sponsored some commercials that were depicting the real MacGyver (Richard Dean Anderson) as MacGruber’s father.
MacGruber was continued as a movie, in the summer 2009. It was shot in only 28 days in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was a very exhausting period because the cast had also to work on the Saturday Night Live show.
After leaving SNL, Will Forte had a bad period, thinking that his career as actor had finished. He had 3 small supporting roles in comedies like That’s My Boy, Rock of Ages and The Watch but the movies were not on critics’ favorite lists.
In 2013 he took his first dramatic role in the movie Run & Jump, and later that year he wanted to be a part of Alexandra Payne’s movie, Nebraska.

Although there is a lot of work involved (more than 12 hours daily), Will Forte said that he was having fun doing it. In 2015, Will Forte started to date January Jones, his coworker. She plays Melissa in the show. They started dating in April. Even though they broke up, coworkers say that they act really professional, and they don’t let the break up stand in the way of the show.
