He was born in Minnesota on 23rd of January, 1950, in the house of Jocelyn Rhae Carter and Stuart Jay Anderson. Richard Dean Anderson had three brothers. He possesses a mixed decent comprising of Mohawk, Scottish, Norwegian and Swedish additions.

He spent most of his childhood time in Roseville. There he completed his high school studies from Alexander Ramsey School. He was more like a sporty child who participated in cycling competition from his hometown to Alaska. During his early childhood he had a passion to come out as a brilliant hockey player but nature have had planned something else for him. His dreams were faded away when both of his arms were fractured. After that he developed an interest in learning music and started playing and investigating jazz music. Even at the early age he had a creative inclination, which became the reason for his distinctive acting skills.

As far as the personal and marital details of the actor are concerned, he never got married. But being a part of the industry full of glamour and beauty he had been in relationship with beautiful actresses as Sela Ward, Marlee Matlin, Teri Hatcher, Deidre Hall, Katarina Witt and Lara Flynn. While he was in relationship with Apryl Prose, they had a daughter. But this relationship could not last long and they departed away in 2002.

Initial struggle

Anderson followed acting career seriously and got an enrollment in at Ohio University and St. Cloud State University for studying the art of acting. But even it was not fulfilling his inner dreams and desires. He wanted to attain something special in acting.

After he left the learning schools of acting, Richard Dean Anderson went to North Hollywood but this stay was also temporary and he came to Los Angeles. Initially he experienced the careers as a juggler, whale handler, clown and a street mime.

 In 1976 he was casted in a soap opera titled “General Hospital”, where he played Dr. Jeff. The movies to his credit include “Pandora's Clock”, “Firehouse” and many more. The fiction series named “Stargate SG-1” became a mile stone for his career. Although the names of the projects are enough to speak for his talent yet another translation of his fame is the net worth he pursues. It is around $20 million.
