Between 2014 and 2016, Allmendinger competed in the NASCAR Cup Series with JTG Daugherty Racing, driving for a team backed by Chevrolet. One of his biggest career highlights came in 2013 when he won the NASCAR Nationwide Series (now Xfinity Series) race at the Johnsonville Sausage 200, held at Road America in Wisconsin.
