Adam Dirks worked as a full-time employee for a youth ministry. The experience allowed him to share his beliefs with young people in his community and he also gave them guidance when they had problems or questions about their faith and commitment.

After his time with the youth ministry, Adam continued to be a mentor and teacher but in a different capacity. He started his employment has a substitute teacher. The job gave him a flexible lifestyle and also helped eased him into his eventual role as a stay at home husband.
