Early Life and Family Background

Adam Wainwright, a professional baseball player, was born on August 30, 1981, in Brunswick, Georgia. He is Caucasian American, not Native American as previously stated. Adam is the younger of two brothers born to Nancy Wainwright, a real estate developer, and Bill Wainwright, an attorney. His parents divorced when he was just seven years old, and he was subsequently raised by his mother alongside his older brother, Trey. Adam shares a close bond with Trey and credits him with inspiring his interest in baseball and teaching him many of the skills he would later use professionally. Trey has followed in their father's footsteps and is also an attorney.

High School and Athletic Beginnings

Wainwright attended Glynn Academy in Georgia, where he became a standout athlete in both baseball and football. However, his passion and skill in baseball ultimately steered his career path. Recognized for his outstanding performances, Adam led his high school team to several championships and was named the Georgia High School Player of the Year in 2000. Despite receiving multiple scholarship offers to play college baseball, Wainwright opted to sign a professional contract straight out of high school, forgoing a college education to pursue a professional baseball career.

Personal Life and Family

Adam began dating Jenny Curry while still in high school, and the couple married in 2004. They have maintained a strong relationship and have five children: four daughters — Baylie Grace (born 2006), Morgan Addison (born 2008), Macy (born 2011), and Sadee Faith (born 2015) — and a son, Caleb Adam, whom they adopted in 2019. A devoted family man, Adam values spending quality time with his wife and children during the baseball offseason.
