Background and Early Life

Adrian Wojnarowski was born in 1969 in Bristol, Connecticut. He graduated from Bristol Central High School in 1987 and earned his degree from St. Bonaventure University in 1991.

Journalism Career

Wojnarowski began building his reputation as a premier NBA insider during his tenure at Yahoo Sports, where he spent roughly a decade. At Yahoo, he served as the editor of The Vertical, a platform dedicated to in-depth NBA coverage. Before his time at Yahoo, he spent nearly ten years at The Record in New Jersey, where he was twice named "Columnist of the Year" by the Associated Press Sports Editors (APSE).

In July 2017, Wojnarowski joined ESPN as Senior NBA Insider. He has since become a central figure in the network’s multimedia NBA coverage, frequently reporting on trades, free agency, the NBA Draft, and league-wide news. His insights and stories appear regularly on ESPN.com, SportsCenter, NBA Countdown, Outside the Lines, and other ESPN platforms.

The Woj Pod and Digital Presence

Wojnarowski also hosts The Woj Pod, a podcast featuring interviews with NBA stars and key league figures. Additionally, he appears on "The Woj Report," a segment featured on ESPN's YouTube page, further solidifying his role as a leader in sports journalism across multiple digital channels.

Wojnarowski was named National Sportswriter of the Year by the National Sports Media Association in 2017, 2018, and 2019, becoming the first digital journalist to receive the honor three consecutive times. He joins an elite list of past winners that includes Tom Verducci, Rick Reilly, Frank Deford, Jim Murray, and Red Smith.

He is also the New York Times bestselling author of The Miracle of St. Anthony: A Season with Coach Bob Hurley and Basketball’s Most Improbable Dynasty, which chronicles a year with legendary high school basketball coach Bob Hurley and his team at St. Anthony High School in Jersey City, New Jersey.
