Adrian Zmed

This American actor was born as Adrian George Zmed on the 14th of March 1954. He was born in the city of Chicago, United States. He is also a singer and a television personality. He has two older brothers. His parents were George Zmed-Smith and Preoteasa Persida Zmed (nee Golub). When he was just five years old, his parents moved back to Romania together with other members of the family. He later returned to the United States in 1952.

Education

He started his education in Romania when he was growing up there. Upon his return to the United States, he went to Lane Tech High School in the city of Chicago. A couple of years after graduating from Lane Tech High School, he attended Goodman School of Drama where he bagged a BFA from the prestigious school. It was later that he proceeded to Conservatory of Music, Chicago, to study voice.

Career

He started a career in sports when he was in high school. He was a member of the school’s football team playing as the halfback. When he broke one of the bones in his leg, he quit the sport and took to acting. Guys and Dolls was his acting debut with the school’s drama group. After completing his education at Goodman School of Drama, he landed a role in Grease as Danny Zuko. He also had a TV career which started in 1978. He got his first role in Starsky and Hutch where he was cast as Marty Decker. Other TV series where he acted are Flatbush, Goodtime Girls; I’m a Big Girl Now, Bosom Buddies, An Evening at the Improv, and Angie.

He gained prominence through his role in T.J. Hooker where he played the role of Officer Romano. He followed this success with different roles in Theresa Saldana Story, She Wrote, Hotel, Empty, and Caroline in the City.

After about 12 years as a professional actor, he took to the stage for another acting experience. During this time, he was the lead music performer in Children of Eden. He followed that with three different shows such as Grease, Falsettos, and Blood Brothers. Recently, he played the role of Noah in The Ark in New York City.

In 1985, he became the new host for Dance Fever in September 1985. This was after the show was hosted since it was created in 1979 until that time. His net worth is estimated to be $3 million which he amassed through his acting roles.

Personal life

When he was in high school, he dated Barbara Fitzner. He later married Barbara in 1976 at the age of 22. His marriage to Barbara produced two sons, Dylan, and Zachary. After divorcing Fitzner, he married Susan Wood, who was an actress and singer from New Zealand. He divorced Susan too. He has been married for the third time with Lyssa Lynne. They got married on October 5, 2012.

The 5’8” actor enjoys being with his family. He also likes to connect with his fans on social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. When he is not doing this, he spends his time with charity organizations.
