Alexander Gould

Early Life and Education

Alexander Gould, born in 1994 in Los Angeles, California, is an American actor. He is the son of Valerie and Tom Gould and has two sisters, Kelly and Emma, who are also actresses. Raised in a Conservative Jewish household, Gould is an active member of the United Synagogue Youth (USY), a Jewish youth organization. During his senior year of high school, he served as president of his local USY chapter.

Following high school, Gould participated in Nativ, a gap-year program during which he lived in Israel. As part of the program, he spent time in the Negev Desert teaching English to elementary school children. After returning to the United States, he enrolled at Clark University in Massachusetts for two years before transferring to Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, where he continues his studies.

Acting Career

Alexander Gould began acting at the age of six, making an early appearance in an episode of Freaks and Geeks. He made his feature film debut in They and gained widespread recognition as the voice of Nemo in Disney/Pixar’s animated film Finding Nemo. He also voiced the young Bambi in Bambi II.

Gould's most notable live-action role was as Shane Botwin on the critically acclaimed television series Weeds, where he performed from 2005 to 2012. He has also made guest appearances on several prominent television shows including Ally McBeal, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Pushing Daisies, and Malcolm in the Middle.
