Alexandra Shipp is an American actress, singer, and songwriter who was born on July 16, 1991, in Phoenix, Arizona to her mother who was a Kundalini yoga teacher and her father who was a musician. She has two brothers named James and Jordan as well as a stepsister named Kasia. Shipp attended Squaw Peak Elementary School before going on to Arizona's School for the Arts and finally St. Mary's Catholic High School. When she was just 17-years-old, Shipp moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. She managed to achieve a minor debut in the film "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel". Following her film debut, Shipp appeared as the lead character KT Rush in Nickelodeon's teen drama series "House of Anubis". In 2014, Shipp appeared as Dani Raymond in the VH1 television film sequel "Drumline: A New Beat". Her best-known role to date would be playing musician Aaliyah in Lifetime's television movie "Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B".
Shipp's careers momentum has been slowly building and she has done quite well for herself. She went on to land the role of superhero Storm in the "X-Men" franchise which included a multiple picture deal. Shipp also appeared as Kimberly Woodruff in the 2015 film "Straight Outta Compton". So far the actress has shown no signs of settling down and getting married and seems content to pursue her career for the time being.
