Andre Iguodala was born on January 28, 1984, in Springfield, Illinois. He attended Lanphier High School, where he excelled both academically and athletically. A standout student, he was frequently named Student-Athlete of the Week by the State Journal-Register and earned recognition on the National Honor Roll. He also received All-Conference Academic Honors. During his senior year, he led Lanphier's basketball team to the finals of the Illinois High School Association Class AA state tournament.

NBA Career: Philadelphia 76ers
Iguodala was selected ninth overall in the 2004 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. He made an immediate impact in his rookie season, earning a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First Team and recording a triple-double—an uncommon feat for a first-year player.
By the 2007 season, he had emerged as a team leader, guiding the 76ers to win 22 out of their final 29 games and secure a playoff berth. In 2008, he signed a six-year contract extension with the team. That same season saw a change in coaching leadership when Maurice Cheeks was replaced by Tony DiLeo, which resulted in an improved team performance.
In 2009, Eddie Jordan took over as head coach, but the team struggled under his leadership. Doug Collins was appointed head coach in 2010. Though the season began poorly, the team improved significantly over the course of the year. Iguodala, however, was hampered by injuries, resulting in lower-than-average performance statistics. He was selected as a reserve for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game, a testament to his continued value to the team.
