Anton Viktorovich Yelchin was born in 1989, March 11 in Leningrad, former Soviet Union. He is of a Jewish descent and his mother and father, Irina and Viktor, were famous people in the Soviet Union. They were ice skaters and were considered as celebrities in the city of Leningrad. The pair was the third best in the SSRS and managed to qualify for the Olympic Games of 1972 but due to strict authorities, the pair was not permitted to participate in the event. The reasons for this are unknown but it is believed that one of the reasons could have been the fact that they were Jewish. Anton's parents moved to the USA in 1989 after they got a status as political refugees. Anton at the time was 6 months old. After moving to the States actor's parents started working in the figure skating world as a choreographer and an instructor.

The actor began his career when he was 9 years old. His first role was in an indie film A Man is Mostly Water. He then went on and appeared in over 40 movies and over 10 television series. His most memorable performances are in TV show Huffs and The Smurfs 2 where he was a voice of Clumsy Smurf. The actor is set to appear in a new Star Trek movie titled Star Trek Beyond, one of the most anticipated films of 2016. With 150 million budget it will be really interesting to see what J. J. Abrams comes up with. And it looks to be the biggest Anton's performance yet.

The actor does not have a Twitter account and seems not to be in the whole social media thing. He does enjoy playing the guitar and in a recent interview revealed that this hobby of his give him fulfillment. Unlike his parents, the actor is not a very good ice skater and said he was never really a fan of it.
