He co-anchored the debate oriented political talk show ‘Crossfire Sunday’ along with Tony Snow and Lynne Cheney. This used to be featured on Sundays. On CBS, the programs he appeared on were CBS News and Good Morning America. He was also featured as a guest on Meet the Press, Face the Nation and Nightline. Mutual Radio’s Buchanan & Company hired him as their co-host.
On January 16, 2017, Fox News brought Bob back as a co-host of The Five. Their ill will against each other had died down and Fox News valued his input. Unfortunately, the return would only last 5 months as Bob was fired again for making racist remarks towards another employee at Fox News.
A man without a network, Bob decided to create his own platform. He started his own podcast, "Beckel's Bob Cast." on February 19, 2018.
Writing Career
The popular book, ‘Common Ground: How to Stop the Partisan War That is Destroying America’ was co-authored by Bog along with his long time friend Cal Thomas. He was a weekly columnist for USA Today, his column was called ‘Common Ground’. The column was co written with his friend Cal who was his political opposite. Great discussions were had in the column because they were written in the style of point and counterpoint. Bob’s liberal views and Cal’s conservative ones on various policy matters try to find a common ground in the column.
In his book "I should be dead", Bob described his life, how he was a raging drunk, how he thought that he ought to be dead by now, and how he came so close to death so many times. He goes on to explain that he has even been shot and went through car accidents. And even after all these scary incidents, somehow he miraculously stayed alive.

Bob Beckel is known for his various controversial comments and as a recovering alcoholic but he has tried to slow down in his later years. He has been very open in public about his past addictions to drugs and alcohol, he once admitted on broadcast TV that he was an addict, "I'm a recovering addict and cocaine was my drug of choice."
He got married to Leland Ingham in 1992 and the couple has two children together. However, he got a divorce from her in 2002. Their relationship only lasted a decade because his wife couldn’t handle all the turmoil he brought into their lives from his work.
