Commonly known for her remarkable work as Iris West in television series named ‘The Flash’, Candice Kristina Patton is well known for being part of various television series on various different networks and online publications. She was born in Jackson, Mississippi but was raised in the city of Plano in Texas. She was born on 24th June, 1988 to parents Arianna Jackson and Paul Patton. While her mother is said to be of African-American descent, her father belongs to the European- American ethnicity. Candice’s mother, in her career, was an opera artist. Her her father was on the different end of the spectrum as an engineer by profession. He did have musical aspects to his life however and was also a known musician in his early life. She has an elder sister named Kaitlyn. Her parents separated their marriage when she was young, a young child of five years.

She has commented that it hurt her then, but actually even more so later in life. She explained that while she understands the issues that can easily come up during a long term relationship, she did and still does love them both and feels that maybe there was something that could have been done to save it. While she was a young child she felt she had some responsibility to them wanting to separate. Understanding relationships more know, she feels she was in not part an aspect of the reason why they separated, when she was young she was deeply hurt by it and put some of the responsibility on herself during that time.

It was around that time in her life that Candice moved to Texas with her mother Arianna Jackson. She was raised in a small place in Plano Texas. She has mentioned to an interviewer that her time there was fun yet focused over time. Candice mentioned having lots of fun with friends and her family while there, always enjoying the fun summers she had with friends during the warm days there. She often went to the local water hangouts during the warmer times of the year and spend time boating and jumping from ledges into the large lake below. Candice loved living an active lifestyle and creating new friends to have fun with over time, which has led to her great social persona on screen.

Candice grew up with her brother and she also started to get acknowledged in school for her given talent in drama arts and acting ability. She was offered a role in a local TV show as well. After completing school, Candice also graduated from the Southern Methodist University where she majored in Fine Arts, getting a Bachelors degree from the college. Candice has mentioned some of her role models growing up was Halle Berry and Julia Roberts.
