Cheyenne Nicole Woods

Cheyenne Nicole Woods was born on July 25, 1990, in Phoenix, Arizona, United States.

Related Biography: Amanda Blumenherst

She is an African-American professional golfer, and she’s also the niece of the famous golf player Tiger Woods, since she’s the daughter of Susan Woods and Earl Dennison Woods Jr, who is Tiger’s older half-brother.

Cheyenne has been trained by her Grandfather, Earl Woods Sr, who’s also her mentor. Being the golf the family’s sport, Cheyenne was introduced to this world when she was just 19 months old. In fact, her mom brought her on a PGA Tour field to watch her uncle Tiger playing (not that Cheyenne could understand that much, being her so young, but she started anyway getting familiar and breathing the air of the fairways, the bunkers, and the greens).

Cheyenne spent her childhood in Phoenix, and she attended the High School at the “Xavier College Preparatory”. She entered in the golf team of the school, and she won the Arizona 5A State Championship two years in a row, in 2006 and in 2007.

In 2009, Cheyenne received a sponsor's exemption to play in an LPGA tournament, the “Wegmans LPGA” tournament. Unfortunately, she missed the cut by just four strokes.

In those years Cheyenne won more than 30 amateur tournaments, but she also won the “Atlantic Coast Conference Championship Title” in the year 2011.

In 2012 Cheyenne graduated from the “Wake Forest University” where she’s been playing golf for the “Demon Deacons”. Once she was done with her studies, she officially started a professional career. Always in 2012 she qualified for the U.S. Women’s Open thanks to her performance during the qualifier that brought her a placement worth a shared medal. Her first professional tournament has been the 2012 LPGA Championship, and her first victory was just few months later at the “SunCoast Ladies Series” in August.

In 2013 Cheyenne became a member of the Ladies European Tour, finishing 78th on the order of merit.

In 2014 Cheyenne won her second professional tournament, and her first major tour, by defeating her opponents at the “Volvik RACV Ladies Master”. In December of the same year, Cheyenne finished tied at the 11th place in the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament. This placement earned her the Category 12 membership, which allowed her to participate in the most prestigious events.

In 2015 Cheyenne didn’t have great results: she was able to pass the cut on 8 tournaments, and her placement in the graduator caused her to pass through the qualifying once again. In the Final Qualifying Tournament, she’s been able to finish at the tied 13th place, earning the LPGA tour card for the major events on 2016.

In 2016 Cheyenne participated to the "ISPS Handa Australian Womens Open", "RACV Ladies Masters RACV Royal Pines Resort", "Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open", "Ricoh Women's British Open", "Evian Championship", and to the "Omega Dubai Ladies Masters". She finished in the money just on “Aberdeen” (scoring a T12 placement that has been worth €9500.00), on the “Evian Championship” (scoring a T43 placement, worth €12482.73), and on the “Omega Dubai” (scoring a T10 position, worth €10750.00).

In 2017 Cheyenne participated to the “Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open” and to the “Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Open” (where she got the 4th place that brought her a prize of €21236.36).

Cheyenne is actually at the 195th position in the World Ranking, and she hasn’t played any official tournament in 2018.

Her playing style is practically as close to the one of her uncle Tiger as much as it could be.

Cheyenne’s personal life’s page is very simple yet focused and strongly supportive, thanks to her parents and her uncle. It cannot be denied the fact that the “royal” name of the Woods carries in itself a great fore benefit, and the mentorship has been sufficient enough to outgrow with the royal sport, to help her to stay focused, and to keep being confident on her skills and value. She is having golf as her first boyfriend besides her other personal alliances, which shall be too ridiculous to showcase on. There is anyway a rumor about a “special friendship” with National Football League player Brandon A. Magee that might be going on since 2013, but the two didn’t confirm nor deny it. There is also no info about when and how the two athletes might have met.
