Studies

He grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. He went to St. Luke Catholic Grade School. This was a private religious, educational institution. He had moved to Parma Heights, Ohio when his high school years started. He attended the religious and private institution by the name of Holy Name High School. After finishing high school, he went to pursue a higher education at the Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio. This university is famous for being the first in the United States of America to admit female and African American students. In 1990 he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from this public institution. While he was going to study there he also found time to become part of the basketball team.

First Work

The same year that he finished college, he started to work for The Plain Dealer. He worked in this Cleveland, Ohio newspaper for about four years. Then he went to work for the Akron Beacon Journal; yet another Ohio based paper. There he made a coverage of the NBA for almost three seasons. He earned the title beat writer of the Cleveland Cavaliers during that time.

Travel to New York

Eight years after his experience at Akron Beacon Journal, he shifted to New York City, New York. There he made various sport teams coverages such as that of the New Jersey Nets, which he followed for two years, along with the New York Knicks, a team that he covered for three years, and the National Basketball Association, he worked around that last one for a year. All that happened while he was working as sports journalist for the famed New York Times.

He joined the ESPN Magazine in 2004. And he had also become a columnist for ESPN.com.

Television work

It was in 2004 that he also became a panellist in the sport, television talk and debate show First Take. There he worked alongside the host of the sport show, Skip Bayless. This debate sport show moved to ESPN 2 three years later and in 2007 it gained two new apart from Skip Bayless, Co-hosts, Molly Qerim and Stephen Anthony Smith Years later he was hired by ABC and started to cover the program of the 2011-2012 National Basketball Association season as an insider. Then in 2013 he worked as a part of the show ESPN Outside the Lines.

Over the years, he has worked mainly covering the National Basketball Association’s sport related news. Apart from working for Outside the Lines, he has also worked as an analyst for ESPN’s NBA Fastbreak.

He is a married man. He lives with his wife, Crystal Naii Collins Broussard, and their children, two daughters, Alexis and Noelle in South Orange, New Jersey.
