When he was five he moved to Los Angeles and prior to his time there he worked in a youth theatre.

He attended Orange County High School of the Arts, Marcos De Niza High School in Tempe and El Segundo High School.

Columbus had a son from a marriage union he had with Brandi short in 2003, after which he got married to Tanee McCall in 2005, In September 2013 Tanee filed for a divorce, although they both had a daughter together.

He tends to be active on social media networks like Instagram and is considered to be a very social person, due to his involvement in social media platforms.

In 2014 he got involved in a domestic violence with his in-law, there were reports that he threw a punch, he then claimed he acted in self defense. He pleaded guilty to this act in a plea to avoid jail.

Columbus is an actor, singer and choreographer,. He became famous for his role in the popular 2007 dance film Stomp the Yard, his dancing routines has proved him as an excellent dancer.

He started his acting carer when he featured as a dancer in the film You Got Served, after which he played a lead role in the movie Save The Last Dance 2.

In 2007 he featured in the movie This Christmas, were he worked his the likes of Chris Brown and Lauren London

In 2008 he featured in a movie titled Quarantine, the movie co-starred Jennifer Carpenter and Jay Hernandez

In 2010 Columbus played the role of Pooch in The Losers which co- starred Zoe Saldana, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Chris Evans, the film was directed by Sylvain white who previously directed Stomp the Yard.

Columbus has been nominated for several categories in awards like Image Awards, Teen Choice Awards, MTV Movie awards and Black Reel Awards.

In 2008 he won the award for Best Ensemble in the movie Cadillac Records and in 2009 he also won an award for the same movie but in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion picture.

He was nominated in 2007 for the category of breakthrough performance for the movie Stomp the yard, in the MTV movie awards show.

There were reports that Columbus was joining the cast of fear files a new TV show, after his exit from TV show scandal. This was considered as one of his major hit role since 2014.

As a dancer he has choreographed for top celebs like Brittney Spears, and he his considered as an A list choreographer.
