Condola Rashad was born on December 11, 1986, in New York City. She is the daughter of acclaimed actress Phylicia Rashad, a Tony Award winner, and former professional football player Ahmad Rashad. Growing up in a family connected to entertainment and sports, Condola was naturally inclined toward the performing arts. In 2008, she graduated from the California Institute of the Arts, an achievement that laid the foundation for her career in acting.
Condola made her television debut in 2009 with a guest appearance on the legal drama series The Good Wife. That same year, she gained critical acclaim for her performance in the stage production of Ruined, for which she won the Theatre World Award for Best Debut Performance. She was also nominated for a Drama Desk Award for her role in the same production, marking a strong start to her career in theater.
In 2012, Condola was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her performance in Stick Fly. She has since received additional Tony nominations, notably for her roles in The Trip to Bountiful, A Doll's House, Part 2, and Saint Joan, establishing her as one of the prominent stage actresses of her generation. Although the claim of winning Tony Awards in both 2012 and 2013 is inaccurate, her consistent presence among nominees speaks volumes about her talent and dedication.
In addition to her theater accomplishments, Condola has appeared in a number of film and television roles. She played Meghan in Sex and the City 2 (2010) and portrayed Julie in 30 Beats. Her diverse performances have demonstrated her range and adaptability as an actress. More recently, she joined the cast of the Showtime drama pilot Billions, appearing alongside Paul Giamatti.
