Born on 13th of May, 1993 in Huntsville, Alabama, Debby Ann Ryan is the daughter of a military personal, hence due to her father’s transfers; her childhood till the age of 10 was spent visiting a number of places, all throughout the Europe. Ryan has the skill of performing and everywhere she went, she would indulge in to talent competitions and theatre performance groups. Her life stabilized when she returned to America and grew up in Texas. A nerd at school, Debby in later life cites instances of middle school when she was bullied.
Her passion for pursuing acting as full time career guided her all the way and she started endorsing various commercials at a very early age. In the year 2007, she landed into a guest role in the movie ’Barney: Let’s go to the Firehouse.’ Her other initial days venture include supporting role in the ‘The Longshots.’ The Disney channel then picked her up for a major character, ‘Bailey Pickett’ of the show ‘The Suite Life on Deck.’ The series was aired of Disney channel and became the top rated television series for teens and pre-teens, ousting various high profile shows like Hannah Montana and Wizards of the Waverly place.
Debby stepped in to movies in the year 2009, when she was casted in an independent movie ‘What if…’ The same year she went on to host the maiden Tween Girl Summit Music Festival. With the movie ‘16 wishes’in the year 2010 she presented herself on-screen, before the youth audience and the movie and her style of acting was liked by a fair ratio of them. She also starred in the Suite of life Movie. From 2011, Debby appears on the series ‘Jessie’ of the Disney Channel. She is also the youngest female director on the Disney channel. The year 2012 added another Disney movie ‘Radio Rebel’ and Voice of the character ‘Spik’ in Tinker Bell movie into her kitty. In the year 2014, Debby formed an Indie Band named ‘The Never Ending’ with Kyle Moore and John Franco.
Ryan believes Brenda Song is her acting idol and she also admires and takes inspiration from various actors namely, Toby Maguire, Rachel McAdams and Anne Hathaway. Debby follows Christian ideologies and is fond of musical instruments like guitar, piano and Keyboard. She tries to follow Christina Aguilera, April Smith and Tom Petty while brewing her musical style. Ryan is also in the initial stages of starting own clothing line.
In 2013-14 Ryan was rumored to have Josh Dun as her boyfriend, however later on she clarified the relationship to be of professional essence. Ryan is involved with the ‘Disney’s Friends for change,’ an initiative of the Disney channel which enlightens children about nature and its preservation. Under this program, she reached to a small village Lai Gow of Udaipur, India and interacted with the locals.
Ryan is the winner of Poptastic Awards (2009, 2010), Popstar Award (2012), Nickelodeon UK Kids’ Choice Awards (2010), Body Peace Award (2010).
