Dixie Marshall is a media personality and also a senior newscaster at Nine News Perth. She initially worked at the radio station 6 PR and has also been a part of The Australian Newspaper. She has been a part of Nine Network from the 2002 to 2011.

Personal Life

Dixie’s father Arthur Marshall was the former politician at Western Australia and also he was the sports commentator too. Dixie did her graduation at Presbyterian Ladies College at Perth in Western Australia.

Career

Dixie started her journalism career appearing the media playing many different roles. Dixie took the responsibility as a cadet general newscast teaming-up with Channel Nine Perth during the year 1984. Dixie moved to Australia’s one of the leading sporting city at Melbourne. She was the first prideful woman to work as a reporter on sport television. Dixie has been a successful television icon who has brought many interesting and breaking stories to the news desk. Some serious killer stories and other overseas coverage where tracked by this wonderful television anchor. Besides this, she also covered the desolating Bali Bombings and turned back to the island for covering the anniversary. During the year 1993, Dixie suffered out of homesickness and she took a break from sports reporting. She became a senior reporter working for Channel Nine Perth while leaving her sports reporting line of work.

During the year 2003 June, Dixie was switched over to present the weekday news days that airs on Monday till Friday. Dixie appeared for presenting the news bulletin popping-up at 6.00 PM sharing the screen with Sonia Vinci who is also the Channel Nine Presenter and journalist. Dixie has been an active participant of Channel Nine and also she has shown keen interest to contribute her efforts for charities and other non-profit organizations. During the year 2006, Dixie became the esteemed ambassador of Ovarian Cancer in Australia where she kept promoting ovarian awareness among people at Perth and also to people residing across the nation.

Dixie is the only proud female host to cover sports news in the Australian television while working for Seven News at Melbourne. During her service, Dixie has won many prestigious awards and honors. She has won incredible credits and awards for her AFT Football coverage, international golf, basketball, tennis and many more. Also she has covered the 1988 Seoul Olympics which is indeed one of the best coverage of Dixie Marshall. Though she is not the regular host of Sportsworld, you can occasionally find her presenting the program along with Bruce McAvaney. During the year 2003, Marshall and Sonia turned as the first female duos to present the newscast however it was a temporary start, they were later appointed as the permanent news host. This excellent female partnership went successfully for five years time prior Dixie’s partner was replaced with Greg Pearce who is the former presenter of Ten News and ABC Announcer too. Later in the year 2011, Dixie resigned her work at Nine Network in order to stay together and spend much of her time along with her family.
