Douglas Kennedy is a novelist and travel writer living in Manhattan New York. He is comfortable with other languages as French, German along with his native language English. He usually writes fiction novels.

Kennedy’s father was a commodity trader and also worked for NBC as an assistant in production. He attended Collegiate School, and later went to Bowdin College from graduation. He also joined Trinity College for a year. He has done his masters in history, thinking that it would help him to grow as a novelist. He says that in his novels, things are inspired from the human behavior which is self repeating, the idea which is generated from history.

He started his carrier in Dublin, where he ran a theatre with one of his friend. After sometime he was offered to run a country theatre The Peacock. Till the age of twenty-eight he was there and then he left his job and decided to dedicate his full time to writing. He started writing stage shows and radio plays. After writing a few, he thought of writing a book.  His first book was base on his journey to Egypt and a kind of its experience. He, with his wife shifted to London, where he started his Journalism carrier. He started writing for magazines and newspapers.

He has till now written eleven novels that have been translated in more than 20 countries.  His novels as The moment, Leaving The World were in French and were on the bestseller list.     For his works he received French Award and a Grand Prix too.

Kennedy couple has two children, son Max and daughter Amelia. His work keeps him busy so he is on travel to many places.

Kennedy’s novels have inspired many directors to make films on his stories. His novels The Dead Heart, The Big Picture and The Woman in the Fifth are few novels which inspired movies in French. The novels, from where the base story is adopted were among the best sellers.
