Early Life and Family Background

Eden Hazard was born on January 7, 1991, in Belgium and spent his childhood in the town of Braine-le-Comte. His father, Thierry Hazard, and his mother, Carine Hazard, were both involved in football professionally—Thierry as a semi-professional and Carine as a former women’s league player. After Eden was born, Carine transitioned to a career in teaching. Eden is the eldest of four brothers, all of whom pursued professional football careers, reflecting a strong family talent for the sport.

Early Career and Development

Hazard began his football journey at the age of four, playing for Royal Stade Brainois. In 2005, he joined the French club Lille’s youth academy. He progressed quickly through the ranks and signed his first professional contract with Lille in 2007. His debut for Lille's senior team came in a match against Racing Club de France. Eden remained with Lille until 2012, making significant contributions and developing into one of the club’s most prominent players. He was known for scoring decisive goals and playmaking abilities during his time at the club.

Transfer to Chelsea and Club Success

In 2012, Hazard transferred to Chelsea FC for a reported fee of around £32 million. His first appearance for the club was in a friendly match, followed by a competitive debut in the FA Community Shield the same year. Over his time at Chelsea, Hazard became a pivotal figure, contributing to the team's successes, including Premier League titles, domestic cups, and the UEFA Europa League. One of his career highlights at Chelsea was his performance in the 2013 UEFA Super Cup.
