Jazz Raycole, born Jazzmine Raycole Dillingham on February 11, 1988, in Stockton, California, is an American actress and professionally trained dancer. She was raised in Stockton, where she attended local schools and discovered her passion for dance at an early age. Raycole began dancing competitively at just four years old. Her mother, who owned and operated a private dance studio, played a pivotal role in nurturing her early training and development in various dance forms.
Raycole trained extensively in multiple styles, earning several accolades, including state championships in tap, jazz, ballet, and ethnic dances. Over the years, she studied under numerous respected industry professionals and eventually worked with acclaimed choreographer Debbie Allen. Her aspirations included performing on stage with icons such as Michael and Janet Jackson. To pursue greater opportunities in dance and entertainment, Raycole and her family moved to Los Angeles. Though she once aspired to become a pediatric physician and attend Stanford University, she temporarily set aside those goals to focus on her performing arts career.
While continuing her dance career in Los Angeles, Raycole also ventured into acting. She made her major film debut in the 1995 drama “Waiting to Exhale.” This marked the beginning of an extensive acting portfolio, appearing in various film and television projects, including “Booty Call,” “Babe,” and the sitcoms “Parent ’Hood,” “Malcolm & Eddie,” “Smart Guy,” “Ellen,” and “The Jamie Foxx Show” in 1996.
Raycole gained wider recognition for her work in the television sitcom “My Wife and Kids,” where she portrayed Claire Kyle alongside Damon Wayans during the show's first season. However, she did not return for the second season and was replaced by actress Jennifer Freeman. Reports suggest that the change was prompted by her mother's concerns over a storyline involving teen pregnancy. In 2005, she was cast in another notable role as Lisa on the hit sitcom “Everybody Hates Chris,” created by Chris Rock, which aired until 2009.
Raycole further built her television résumé with appearances on popular series such as “The Office,” “Monk,” “Bones” (in the 2013 episode titled “The Fury in the Jury”), and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” She also had a recurring role as Allison Hawkins in the post-apocalyptic drama “Jericho,” appearing in 13 episodes across two seasons. Another prominent credit includes her role as Lyric Ballentine in the TV Land sitcom “The Soul Man.”
Raycole has lent her voice to animated projects, including voicing the character Chloe in “Hey Arnold!” Her film and television work also includes roles in “From the Earth to the Moon,” “Without a Trace,” “Lincoln Heights,” “Promare,” “10 Things I Hate About You,” “First Day,” “Eastwick,” “Brave New World,” “Rizzoli & Isles,” and an appearance in the sitcom “New Girl” in 2012. She also worked with Continuum Motion Pictures on various projects. In 2006, she received a nomination for Best Performance in a TV Series for her role in “My Wife and Kids.”
Raycole keeps her private life out of the public eye, and there is limited public information available regarding her net worth or personal relationships. She stands 5'7" tall and continues to be recognized for her versatility as both a dancer and actress.
