Early Life and Background

Jazz Raycole, born Jazzmine Raycole Dillingham on February 11, 1988, in Stockton, California, is an American actress and professionally trained dancer. She was raised in Stockton, where she attended local schools and discovered her passion for dance at an early age. Raycole began dancing competitively at just four years old. Her mother, who owned and operated a private dance studio, played a pivotal role in nurturing her early training and development in various dance forms.

Dance Training and Influences

Raycole trained extensively in multiple styles, earning several accolades, including state championships in tap, jazz, ballet, and ethnic dances. Over the years, she studied under numerous respected industry professionals and eventually worked with acclaimed choreographer Debbie Allen. Her aspirations included performing on stage with icons such as Michael and Janet Jackson. To pursue greater opportunities in dance and entertainment, Raycole and her family moved to Los Angeles. Though she once aspired to become a pediatric physician and attend Stanford University, she temporarily set aside those goals to focus on her performing arts career.

Transition to Acting

While continuing her dance career in Los Angeles, Raycole also ventured into acting. She made her major film debut in the 1995 drama “Waiting to Exhale.” This marked the beginning of an extensive acting portfolio, appearing in various film and television projects, including “Booty Call,” “Babe,” and the sitcoms “Parent ’Hood,” “Malcolm & Eddie,” “Smart Guy,” “Ellen,” and “The Jamie Foxx Show” in 1996.
