Born on October 26, 1973 to pastors Henry Parks and Regina Bell in Athens, Georgia. Phaedra Parks spent most of her childhood days in Georgia only. She has three siblings, two brothers, Henri Jacques Parks and Albert Bell and a sister Keosha Bell. She completed her schooling from Clarke Central High school in Athens, Georgia in the year 1989. She then got her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in the year 1993 from the Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. She then went on to get her degree in Juris doctorate from the University of Georgia Law School in the year 1998. She also received her degree in mortuary sciences from Jefferson State College.

Phaedra Parks is known to be an expert in the areas of intellectual property rights, entertainment and criminal litigation. She started a law firm situated in Atlanta, Georgia with the name The Parks Group. As a lawyer, she has defended many big stars and celebrities in the courtroom like <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Brown">Bobby Brown</a>, <a href="/biography/jermaine-dupri">Jermaine Dupri</a> and Too $hort. She was also a litigation analyst for the legal team of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Jackson">Michael Jackson</a> and she also works closely with the Atlanta Legal Community. Along with being the litigation analyst of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Jackson">Michael Jackson</a>, she was also a legal analyst for Fox, EXTRA, and CNN, etc. She was also chosen by the advisory board of the American Bar Association and was also the president of Gate City Bar Association.

A passionate activist for social issues, Phaedra is a faithful advocate for <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_Americans">African American</a> young men and women. Through her nonprofit organization Save Our Sons she works with communities nationwide on the importance of positive male role models in the lives of black young men. She has spent time with the families of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trayvon_Martin">Trayvon Martin</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Michael_Brown">Michael Brown</a> and other young men and women who have been victims of violence and unjustified killings at the hands of police officers. Parks is a regular in Washington, D.C., where she works with members of Congress and other politicians on implementing initiatives and plans to provide opportunities for at risk youth in low income neighborhoods. Phaedra Parks is also an important voice on civil rights matters and has gone to cities from Selma, Alabama to Flint, Michigan to fight social injustices around the country.

She also tours around the country and gives motivational speeches on various topics like law, personal development and success. She also became a bestselling author with the book Secrets of Southern Belle: How to be Nice, Work Hard, Look Pretty, Have Fun, and Never Have an Off Moment. According to her bio on wiki, she also plans on establishing a funeral home as she is a licensed funeral director.

She married her boyfriend Apollo Nida on November 1, 2009, but got separated from him in the year 2014. Her husband, Apollo Nida was sentenced to five years in prison for racketeering. Parks and her husband Apollo are proud parents of two sons, Ayden Adonis Nida, who was born in May 2010 and Dylan Nida who was born in May 2013. Though her separation with her husband Apollo Nida was officially announced in the year 2014, there is no information on divorce until now. Phaedra reported in November, 2016 that their divorce had been finalized, but in March, 2017 a judge overturned that ruling. The judges reasoning for the overturn was that he believed Apollo Nida had not been served divorce papers correctly, and that Parks had purposely misspelled his name on the divorce documents when they were filed. As of June 2017, they are proceeding with a divorce for the second time.

In 2010, Phaedra Parks joined the reality TV show “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”, as a main cast member for season three, alongside <a href="/biography/cynthia-bailey">Cynthia Bailey</a>. The show is a very popular reality show that airs on the Bravo channel. All throughout the first season she appeared on,  she was pregnant with her first child and was shown arguing and fighting with her then husband over their differing parenting styles.

Her biggest controversy came in the ninth season of the series, in which she told her then good <a href="/biography/porsha-stewart">friend</a> <a href="/biography/porsha-stewart">Portia Williams</a> that another <a href="/biography/kandi-burruss">cast member</a>, <a href="/biography/kandi-burruss">Kandi Burruss</a> and her ex husband Todd Tucker had planned to drug her and take advantage of her while she was under the influence. The controversy was called Lesbiangate by the media, and it was quite the controversy for a long while. 
Parks later admitted in the finale reunion episode in season nine that she had over exaggerated  a rumor she had heard, and that her accusations were actually false. She apologized to both <a href="/biography/porsha-stewart">Portia Williams</a> and <a href="/biography/kandi-burruss">Kandi Burruss</a>, but understandably her actions still caused fans and media alike to be outraged at her actions of false accusations. Although the show has been confirmed for a tenth season, it is unknown as to whether Parks will be invited back on the show.

No surprise to anyone, it looks like Phaedra Parks is back in the news again, after she wrapped up her time on ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’. As per sources, Phaedra Parks raised concerns to the local police department, after receiving death threats from one of her past clients that she represented as a lawyer. Terrence Cook, a onetime rapper, seemed to have made claims that he sent a bomb via special delivery to Phaedra Parks’ office at Leonx Plaza. Soon after he was arrested, the ex rapper claimed that it was just a joke and he wanted to get back at Phaedra for not handling his case well and allowing him to be convicted and sent to jail for 12 years. Cook also apparently blamed Parks for his failed rap career.

Phaedra is currently active on social sites like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. She has more than 1 million followers on Facebook, 2.1 million followers on the Instagram and 950k followers on the Twitter. She also posts very regularly on all of the platforms she is subscribed to and regularly engages with fans. Her net worth as of 2014 was around $8 Million dollars.
