<p>Vic Fuentes was born in 1983 in San Diego, California. He attended Mission Bay High School alongside his younger <a href="/biography/mike-fuentes">brother</a>, <a href="/biography/mike-fuentes">Mike Fuentes</a>. The brothers shared a strong interest in music from an early age. Their father, Victor Gamboa Fuentes, is a former Mexican jazz musician who later became a painter. Their mother is Vivian K. Fuentes. Vic has one half-sister and two half-brothers.</p>

<h2>Musical Beginnings</h2>
<p>Vic began learning to play the guitar at age seven. After high school, he enrolled at San Diego State University, where he studied graphic design. However, he left college when his band Before Today signed with Equal Vision Records. Before forming Pierce the Veil, Vic played in several bands, including 3 Simple Words alongside Curtis Peoples. Together, they developed their musical skills and built on their creative chemistry.</p>

<h2>Before Today and Transition to Pierce the Veil</h2>
<p>Following 3 Simple Words, Vic and <a href="/biography/mike-fuentes">Mike Fuentes</a> formed a band called Early Times. After releasing three EPs, the band underwent a name change to Before Today due to copyright issues.
