Emily VanCamp is a Canadian actress who was born on May 12, 1986, in Port Perry, Canada. When she was just three-years-old, VanCamp began learning to dance and aspired to become a professional dancer. When she turned 11, she went to a summer training program in Montreal. By age 12, VanCamp was accepted at the Ecole Superieure de ballet du Quebec. In 1998, she visited her sister on the set of the film "Ladies Room" which inspired her to pursue acting. VanCamp began taking acting classes and obtained an agent who helped her start her career with commercials. She went on to land a role in the seventh season of the Canadian children's horror television series "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" Although her role on the show had no lines, she appeared on screen opposite of Canadian actress Elisha Cuthbert. Her career took off in 2003 when she was cast as Sam Dolan in the WB television series "Glory Days". She was subsequently cast as Amy Abbot in the WB television series "Everwood" and as Amanda Clarke in the ABC television series "Revenge".

In 2011, VanCamp landed a role in the made-for-television movie "Beyond the Blackboard". She went on to co-star with actor Chris Evans in Marvels "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" where she played Sharon Carter. VanCamp began dating her co-star Josh Bowman from the ABC television series "Revenge" in 2011. On December 15, 2018, the pair were married in the Bahamas.
