Erin’s international assignments have been some of her most memorable tasks, “One time I was on a shoot in Dubai, and I decided to go to Yemen afterwards by myself, with a camera. I went for a couple of days and did some reporting, and it was a really amazing experience on so many levels. There have been many cool opportunities in my job that have been very transformative.”

In the year 2009, Burnett got involved in a controversy, when she used the term serial killer in relation to the aerial shooting and culling of feral camels in Australia. She maintained the next day that her comment was just meant as a joke. She was reportedly been unhappy with the network’s decision on moving her from the prime time slot to morning show and she wanted to negotiate with the network for a better deal.

Family Life

Erin married her fiancé David Rubulotta in the year 2012. Rubulotta is Citigroup’s managing director. He was earlier with the Lehman Brothers as a trader. Erin Burnett is known to be very attractive which contributes to her popularity among men. They met because of a blind date and their marriage took place in 2012. Their marriage took place in Manhattan City Hall.

Her husband is David Rubulotta and they have a baby together.  She said that she had always looked forward for the time that she will hold her own baby and it was a dream came through when she announced that she was pregnant. Their child’s name is Nyle Thomas Burnett Rubulotta. Even though Erin is a popular news anchor, she considers being a mother to be her greatest achievement.

Erin has a very busy schedule as an anchor and claims to only get five to six hours of sleep and that her level of ambition is high but selective. While the average person needs at least eight hours of sleep to function, Erin is able to succeed with just six hours. She wants to jump out of bed as soon as she can because she has so many goals that she wants to accomplish before she retires. Although Erin is focused, she does admit that she has some pet peeves. Even though the pet peeves aren’t strong because they come and go, she still has things that can get to her. She tries to stay clam so that she doesn’t bring negative energy into her workplace.
