Franck Ribery full name Franck Henry Pierre Ribéry was born on 7 April 1983 in France in a small city named Pas-de-Calais. His father was a construction worker with whom he later worked in his teenage. Ribery was involved in a major car accident in which his face was heavily injured. The accident was so immense that he was basically unrecognizable from himself before the accident. He had to get around 100 stitches on his face at an age of 2 years. His wounds later healed but left scars on his face which are visible to this date and for which Ribery is very proud. Ribery says that his scars have in a way motivated him since his childhood to be a better person at heart.
Ribery started playing football for a small club called FC Conti de Boulogne-sur-Mer. He stayed there till a club called Lille playing in the second division in French league came calling in 1996. Some behavioral problems led to him being released by the club later on. In 2012 he stated that his former club dropped him because of his small physique. After playing for small clubs in his hometown Ribery was bought by Galatasaray in 2005. His fans called him Scarface due to the scarce on his face and Ferrariberi for his immense speed. He won his first major trophy Turkish cup beating Fenerbahce 5-1 in the finals scoring a goal and assisting one.
In June, 2005 Ribery decided to join Marseille to the shock of Galatasaray fans and club officials. He filed a case against the club stating that his salary was not paid and he was threatened with a baseball bat. The CIA gave the ruling in favor of Ribery and let him move to a new club. Ribery made in debut for Marseille on 31 July 2005 against Bordeaux which they lost 2-0. His first goal for the club came in a 3-1 win over Troyes on September 17, 2005. He made his official debut for Bayern on 21st July 2007 against Werder Bremen. His first season was a good one and he scored 19 goals. In 2008 he was shortlisted for the Ballon d'Or which was later won was Cristiano Ronaldo. In 2010 his reported market value skyrocketed due to his good form. It was reported that Bayern would not sell him for anything less than $100 million. In 2013 Ribery won the Champions League for the first time against their German opponent Borussia Dortmund.
The same year he was again nominated for the Ballon d'Or but again he was voted behind Messi and Ronaldo, with Ronaldo winning the award. Ribery is having an astonishing career having scored 138 club goals and 20 international goals he is still going strong. Currently, he is playing for the German giants Bayern Munich for the 10th year. Although he has lost a little bit of speed due to age but still he remains of the best footballers on the planet.
