Continuing their dominant presence in the figure skating world, Papadakis and Cizeron competed at the 2018 Internationaux de France in Grenoble. There, they captured the gold medal and set new world records in both the short and free dance programs, as well as in their overall score.
In August 2015, Gabriella suffered a cerebral concussion following a fall during practice. The injury impacted her ability to focus, and she has spoken about continuing to experience occasional symptoms. Despite this setback, she and Cizeron maintained their elite level of performance through perseverance and careful management of her recovery.
