In 2006, Pence played for the Double-A Corpus Christi Hooks, finishing with a .283 batting average, 28 home runs, 95 RBIs, and 17 stolen bases while being caught stealing four times. His performance earned him a spot on Baseball America’s Minor League All-Star team as an outfielder.
