James D'Arcy was born in 1975, August 24 in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, England. The actor has spent his childhood growing up in Fulham, London. He and his sister Charlotte, who is much younger than James, were mostly raised by their mother who was working as a nurse. Their father Richard passed away when James was really young and his sister had just been born. The family struggled but they still managed to live on a nurse's salary. The actor has relatives all over Britain – his family lives in England, Ireland, and Scotland. In 1991, James graduated The Bluecoat School, an independent day and boarding school located in West Sussex. After this, he decided to spend some time in Australia and enrolled in drama school in Perth. This gave him interest in becoming an actor. After returning to motherland he traveled to London where he applied for drama school to pursue his dream. London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art accepted him and he spent 3 years studying there before finishing and graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Acting.

The Brit started his professional career in movies and TV shows by starring in a British crime drama Silent Witness. This was in 1996 and the same year he also managed to get roles in Daiziel and Pascoe as well as Brookside. The actor then furthered his career by working in various movies and television series. 1997 was an especially good year since the actor was on 6 different projects and these included The Ice House and Wilde, a biographical film directed by Brian Gilbert. The actor continued in progressing his career until the end of the century with various roles in different projects. In 2001, he got to play Ernie Coyne in television mini-series British drama. In the same year, the actor also starred in Stephen Whittaker's The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, a British television film that is based on one of Charles Dickens' writings. The actor appeared in over 60 different movies or TV series and is credited for many roles. His most recent one was in Andy and Lana Wachowskies' Jupiter Ascending. It is a space opera featuring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis as well as Sean Bean. However, the movie was not very successful at the Box Office since it only made 184 million dollars with a budget of a ridiculous 176 million.
