Early life and education

Being born in the town of Parsippany-Troy Hills in New Jersey, Jane has always had a passion for acting which she exhibited in her early years. Her father is a chemical engineer while her mother is more of an arts person. She is a theater instructor and she is also manufacturing artistic decors for the company called Women’s Theater. Jane also has a brother who is older than her.

Interestingly enough, her entire family is Polish but she doesn’t speak the language at all. Her father and her grandparents on the other hand are fluent in polish. Jane grew up in a theatrical surrounding mostly because of the work of her mother. She recalls that her parents didn’t want to hire baby sitters and they used to take her everywhere they went. She also took ballet lessons when she was only four years old but she had to stop. The reason for this was that her body wasn’t in the proper shape and she started drifting towards dancing on Broadway. She went to the Professional Children’s School in NYC and later on graduated the Rutgers University in New Brunswick.

Professional career

Her professional career kicked off back in 1981 when she starred on a commercial for a video game called Solar Fox. She got her first major role in a soap opera called Search for Tomorrow back in 1984 where she portrayed the character of Theresa Rebecca Kendall. She played the role all the way through when the show was cancelled in 1986. However, Jane is mostly known for playing the character of Jenna Maroney on 30 Rock which is a sitcom of NBC network. She got four Primetime Emmy Award nominations for the work she did.

She is also a regular participant on the big stage and she got a Tony Award for a performance that she did on Broadway called Nine and she also won an Olivier Award for the excellent portrayal of Miss Adelaide in the Guys and Dolls revival. She also got several appearances on the film stage, most recently playing in The Ghost of Christmas Past in 2004. She was also the voice of the deer called Giselle in an animated film called Open Season. Her Debut was on the movie called National Lampoon’s Vacation back in 1983.

Personal life

As far as her personal life goes, it’s worth noting that Jane has a 4 years old son – Bennett Robert Godley. He was born in NYC at the time during which Jane was engaged to Robert Godley. Unfortunately, the couple got separated back in 2013.
