Jason Bateman is an American actor, director, and producer, born on January 14, 1969, in Rye, New York. When he was four years old, his family relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah. He has an older sister and three half-brothers. His mother, Victoria Elizabeth, was a former Pan Am flight attendant, while his father, Kent Bateman, is a director, actor, and writer involved in the film industry.

In July 2001, Jason Bateman married Amanda Anka, the daughter of singer Paul Anka. The couple has two daughters: Francesca Nora and Maple Sylvie.

Career Beginnings and Early Television Roles

Bateman began his career in a Golden Grahams cereal commercial in 1980. He gained early recognition for his role as James Cooper Ingalls on “Little House on the Prairie,” and later portrayed Derek Taylor in the sitcom “Silver Spoons” from 1982 to 1984.
